1933 Riley Brookland Supercharge full race history

If ever a car lent itself to development for racing it was Riley's 9 four cylinder model and indeed the standard version where significantly developed by factory as works competition cars and also produced as off the shelf sports cars in such guises a Riley Brooklands, the March Special and Ulster Imp.
This car is just one of many developed by enthisiastic engenieur for serious competition.

Although the History of the car is not confirmed in details, it is believd to be based around the single seat Brooklands chassis once owned by that great Riley campaigner, Bob Gerard, may well be the car that Gerard Racing proposed to develop from a short chassis TT Brooklands which was used in various forms between 1935 & 1951. A letter from Gerard Racing that I have got now dated 1965 suggests this may well be the basis of this car which was sold partially completed by them in the early 1950's. The car came into the present family ownership in the early 1960's as a rolling chassis. It came with body drawings believed to have been for the ex Bob Gerard "Bullet" and in constructing the car there drawings were closely followed by coachbuilder Bill Roberts.
The car is equipped with a Derek Chinn type Supercharger, a close ration ENV 75 preseletor gearbox and the engine has been developed with Allen Crank and Corods, Omega pistons and Piper cams!
Weight savings have been made wherever possible in the best vintage traditions and the car has proved competitive and succesful in historic competition, Sprints, hill climbs and of course circuit racing!
The car is race prepared for next season, comes with V.S.C.C eligibility papers
