1931 T51 Bugatti GP Replica

This fine example of a 1931 T51 Bugatti GP car has been lovingly constructed over a 27 year period using only the best original Bugatti parts available. All the main parts are 100% period Bugatti T51, not some new made copy-cat replica. This has enabled her to earn chassis ID number BC132 with the Bugatti Owners club, a Historic technical passport, VSCC Buff book eligibility and the new FIA passport for class 13 making the car eligible for racing at all major historic and vintage race festivals, anywhere in the world.

Ettore Bugatti was as much an artist as an engineer and this is reflected in the overall finish of his work. Attention to detail is everywhere, from the fine machine turning in the engine bay to the beautifully crafted wooden handles in the cockpit. The overall finished product is as much a work of art as it is a fine racing car.
Employing a supercharged straight 8 cylinder engine now producing some 250 hp from only 2262cc, a new fresh racing gearbox and conversion to run on methanol, the car has a performance that a lot of modern day vehicles would struggle to achieve. Despite the performance and the fact that the T51 is fundamentally...

1936 ADLER RACE CAR - Ex Charlie Manders

This story is one of a successful competitive driver and his Adler racecar.
Charlie Manders was 250 cc Motor cycle champion in the late 1920`s. He set up an Adler dealership in Dublin selling Adler motor cars imported from Germany. He was a very successful private entry racing driver and drove cars such as Delages and Sunbeams , Mg`s etc as well as Adlers .

For himself to race Charlie had built, regardless of the costs, in England using the chassis of an Adler Trumpf Junior, a single seat racing car. This car went on to campaign in Ireland in the 1930`s up until the war.
The car was very successful in its class and indeed at times was as fast as the bigger engine 1500cc cars;
he raced with drivers such as Prince Bira, Earl Howe, Sammy Davis, ER Hall, A Dobson etc in Phoenix Park, Taillight, Cork and Ards etc.
Charlie Manders used his car racing, which included some modified two seater cars to promote his business and many of his customers were allowed to take away cars from...

1933 Riley Brookland Supercharge full race history

If ever a car lent itself to development for racing it was Riley's 9 four cylinder model and indeed the standard version where significantly developed by factory as works competition cars and also produced as off the shelf sports cars in such guises a Riley Brooklands, the March Special and Ulster Imp.
This car is just one of many developed by enthisiastic engenieur for serious competition.

Although the History of the car is not confirmed in details, it is believd to be based around the single seat Brooklands chassis once owned by that great Riley campaigner, Bob Gerard, may well be the car that Gerard Racing proposed to develop from a short chassis TT Brooklands which was used in various forms between 1935 & 1951. A letter from Gerard Racing that I have got now dated 1965 suggests this may well be the basis of this car which was sold partially completed by them in the early 1950's. The car came into the present family ownership in the early 1960's as a rolling chassis. It came with body drawings believed to have been for the ex...(see more)
